About End-of-Year Trips

Is the Camino de Santiago well signposted?

Yes, the French Way being the busiest is very well signposted. You will not get lost because, besides always coinciding with more pilgrims, it is marked with yellow arrows found on poles, trees, buildings and anywhere else. These elements will help you to follow the path.

How do I get the Compostela?

The Compostela is a certificate that is given to pilgrims who have traveled at least 100 km on foot or horseback, or 200 km by bicycle on the Camino de Santiago. To obtain it, it is necessary to present the pilgrim's credential (in Guía Camino de Santiago we will give it to you on the first day of the trip) stamped at least twice a day and with the date on each stamp.

In Santiago de Compostela you must go to the Pilgrim's Office, located in the Plaza del Obradoiro, to apply for the Compostela.

About the Camino de Santiago as a family

Doing the Camino de Santiago with teenagers?

Doing the Camino de Santiago with teenagers is a very enriching and positive experience for them. It is important to adapt the pace of the stages to the physical abilities of teenagers and encourage teamwork to strengthen bonds between them. Make them feel part of the group and see this experience as something fun and exciting. At Guía Camino de Santiago we have seen how empowered they are after finishing this challenge together. Undoubtedly, a highly recommended adventure.

Is it possible to go sightseeing while walking the Camino de Santiago?

In fact, it is one of the best ways to get to know the cultural, historical and natural richness of the towns that the Camino crosses. The ideal is to leave early in the morning to walk the stages and then, once you are in the hostel and have rested a little, you have the rest of the day to do some sightseeing in the area.

Along the different routes of the Camino de Santiago, there are numerous places of tourist interest that can be visited along the way or make small detours to know them. You can enjoy the natural landscapes, gastronomy, monuments and historical sites of Galicia.

Which route of the Camino de Santiago is best to go with children?

The French Way is one of the best ways to go as a family and take children. It is a very busy Jacobean route and is the one that has a greater infrastructure of services and accommodations along the way, which can be very convenient for families with children. In addition, the little ones will be able to interact with other children while enjoying nature.

Before embarking on the Camino de Santiago, you can prepare the children by going on some hiking excursions a few months before or even using the shoes they will wear on the Camino to get them used to it. This way you will be able to check their level of endurance and the kilometers they are able to walk.
