That's exactly what Mainer Carey Kish did during his recent journey along the legendary Camino de Santiago.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%C2%BFQue_es_el_Camino_de_Santiago\"><\/span>What is the Camino de Santiago?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Camino de Santiago is a network of routes that pilgrims from all over the world travel to reach the city of Santiago de Compostela in Spain, where the remains of the apostle St. James the Greater are said to be.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"La_eleccion_de_la_ruta_Camino_Frances_vs_Camino_Portugues\"><\/span>The choice of the route: French Way vs. Portuguese Way<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Carey decided to take the French Camino, known for its beauty and the cultural richness of the villages it passes through. Although the Portuguese Camino was also considered, the history and scenery of the French Camino captured his interest.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Preparativos_y_desafios_del_camino\"><\/span>Preparations and challenges on the road<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Preparing for the Camino is no small task. Mainer equipped himself with what he needed: a good pair of boots, a light backpack and the will to face more than 800 kilometers of travel. One of the biggest challenges was adapting to the changing weather and the long daily distances.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"La_experiencia_de_hacer_el_Camino_en_grupo\"><\/span>The experience of doing the Camino in a group<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Doing the Camino de Santiago alone or in a group has its own charms and challenges. Carey began his journey alone, but soon joined other travelers, forming an impromptu group that shared laughter, fatigue and moments of reflection.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Lecciones_aprendidas_y_momentos_memorables\"><\/span>Lessons learned and memorable moments<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Among the most memorable moments, Carey especially recalls a clear night when the group shared stories under the stars.
